Squirrel Box

September 2026

We recently noticed a scared and lonely baby squirrel hanging around our yard. It was very small and scared, and climbed in our green bird feeder dish and slept there for an entire night. It kept coming back, and would lie in one spot on the fence for an hour at a time, where it was an easy target for predators.

We decided to put up a squirrel box as a secondary home, since we have a family of squirrel box nesting in our palm tree that has made a home in our yard for the last several years.

We are already getting a little interest, so we home someone finds a snuggly home in the box for the colder months ahead!
